Alex’s Lemonade Stand

alexlemonFive Vanderlyn Elementary families will spend the afternoon on Saturday, June 8th from 10:00-2pm selling lemonade as they host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand to fight childhood cancer. Over the past several years, they have raised over $3,000 and have received outstanding support from the Dunwoody community. This year’s goal is to raise $2,000.Funds raised go directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to fight childhood cancers.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lem
onade stand of cancer patient, Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $30 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 80 research projects nationally. For more information, please visit www.alexslemonade.org.
Please help support our event by visiting our lemonade stand on Saturday, June 8th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00pm at 5141 Mt Vernon Way. We will be selling fresh squeezed lemonade and baked goods. Donations in any amount are welcome.
